Our Program
There are many children in Kenya who are left with no parents due to HIV and Aids. The Kenya Projects, recognizing the great need to provide care for the many orphans in the community. (“Pamoja” is the Swahili word for “Together). Pamoja Children,s is operated by Big Cats operation Safaris nonprofit that facilitates all the programs supported by The Kenya Projects. There are currently four homes with 45 children. Pamoja Children's Center is dedicated to providing opportunities for Christian mission, Well wishers, Good Samaritans, Volunteers and Youths with Mission work.
About the voluntary work
Pamoja Children’s Village is located in Kwale, about 30 km south of Mombasa near the popular holiday area of Diani Beach. Their goal is to provide children with a permanent and loving home, good education and to prepare them for a self-dependent life. It is now accommodating 45 children, but has a capacity of 50 children. Pamoja Children’s Village is supporting the most unprivileged children (orphans, destitute and children in danger) as determined by the ministry of gender and social services. Pamoja provides regular meals and the children receive education in the nearby school. The overriding aim is to reinstall hope about the children’s future progress and help them to become independent adults, regardless of their background, for the benefit of the society and community at large.
The project is located at Kwale ,south,the Coastal region of Kenya
Past mission teams have been involved in activities such as:
Volunteers Tasks:
- Taking care of the children as well as playing with them
- Feeding the children
- Ensuring the compound is clean
- Helping the children with homework
Accomodation
The volunteer will live in a near the project site of which they can pay a very low rate per month as 30 usd per months include everything.Ie Water and electricity.. Breakfast and dinner will be provided in the during the volunteers and will get lunch at the project.
Typical Day at Work
All Volunteer will enjoy adventures with the kids and they will work 8 hours a day.
All volunteers taking part in this project are going to be picked up from the Airport at a very little fees transfer and return .
